Tony Pines leads the company and has direct functional responsibility for Creative Affairs, Marketing and Production. He will also serve as a Producer on the company’s films, helping to guide them through the production process. Tony is a film executive with broad experience in marketing, distribution, administration, development and production and has been involved in the release of over 200 independent films. Tony has always bridged the gap between his creative and business sides. He created commercials and award-winning film shorts while still in high school, and is both an accomplished musician/composer and screenwriter.
For eleven years, he worked with the legendary independent producer Roger Corman, an experience that has long been nicknamed the “Roger Corman School of Filmmaking,” due to the unprecedented number of distinguished talent and successful executives who have graduated. On over 25 films per year, he had primary responsibilities in almost every area of the business, working in development, foreign distribution, domestic television, home video, acquisitions, production, contract administration, collections, servicing, and most recently as Vice President of Marketing for over 100 film releases. Over the last decade, he has further refined his development skills by working with young writers, producers, and Twin Bridges Literary Management in developing a number of original screenplays.
His analytical and problem solving skills were honed during 6 years with IBM as an Engineer & Scientist in broadcasting, digital, and systems integration. His technological and distribution expertise enables StoryWise Pictures in proactively exploiting & adapting to the evolving technological transformation of content delivery and distribution models.
Tony brings to the company a worldwide network of industry relationships, business savvy, technical expertise and creativity. Tony earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from Duke University, and his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.
